As with most things in life there are two sides to most stories. The patriotic fervor now encompassing the US has all but silenced the "friendly" or "otherwise" opposition. Jim Hightower's new book is a further indictment of a political system that is broken. What makes "If The Gods Had Meant Us To Vote..." different is that it is not an angry book, as so many of these books are, but is laced with humor -- that makes it an enjoyable read regardless of your predisposed perspective. |

I read "Give Me Liberty" in one sitting and came away wanting to read more by this author. "Give Me Liberty" reads more like a novel with its many quips and quotes and stories, but there also emerged from these pages a personality I came to much admire. |
