The national discussion is getting a bit out of hand. Let's see. Republicans and the Bush administration are mostly tight-lipped. The loyal opposition return to their wimpishness at the slightest snarl of the attack dogs. So that leaves the national debate between the News Media and the American public -- and the public only has clout every two years. So here goes, let's call a spade a spade. Let's look for some "blame" for 9-11.

Not too long ago Republicans liked to joke that Clinton let the dogs out, referring to behavior during the Clinton Administration and the chaos it caused. They would play that song on talk shows and snicker and laugh. True, Clinton had left the gate ajar and a few of them had escaped. But now it seems that someone has torn down the fence all together.
